"Pro-Mubarek Demonstration" WE WERE DENIED OUR OWN DEMONSTRATION IN TAHRIR so we moved it to Mohandiseen CLICK HERE * Lots of great pictures, new info * BEING WARNED VIA TEXT by the ARMED FORCES * IRANIAN WAR SHIPS in the Suex * But, Egyptians finally got to express their sadness via chanting, banners, etc.
"Police Day" (a national holiday) turns into the "Day of Anger". The beginning. (CLICK HERE) * Info about what Police Day stood for * How it turned into riots, looting, fear * How my neighborhood formed a neighborhood watch and was given 2 moltov cocktails and a billy club by the military to protect myself. * I also filmed rioters breaking into a police station and releasing all prisoners
"Who Are the So-Called "Pro-Mubareks?" (CLICK HERE) * They are not the way they were portrayed in the news * Even pop and film stars spoke out and created songs for Mubarek * Good photo of a military man crying when Mubarek resigned
"The Day Mubarek Resigned" (CLICK HERE) * It was the opposite as to what was shown on tv * The average Egyptian wept in sadness * Fear of extremists, etc. without Mubarek's world-type leadership * RE: corruption (what a joke) * What the Imams were saying * My first visit to Tahrir after the destruction (photos: tanks, NP headquarters, AUC)
"Demonstration of Feb 25, 2011" After watching the news showing violence in Tahrir-- yet receiving phone calls from many friends who were there and saying: "You've got to come see for yourself--its a party and fun" . . . we joined it. (CLICK HERE) * Lots of interesting photos * More of a carnival atmosphere with people from the country-side coming just to 'look' * Military at the bridge--wouldn't let me through at first * Essam and I got separated when he tried to talk 'pro' Mubarek--some frightening moments for us * Lots of singing, dancing in the streets that had nothing to do with the movement--just plain fun--but the opposite of what they showed on tv when we got home!

Goes in order as it happened, i.e. most recent update at bottom. For a MAP of Cairo, the island of Zamelek (where I live) and to orient yourself with Tahrir, the bridges, etc. (CLICK HERE)

Over the years I've taken some good pictures during prayers when they put their head to the ground and their butts in the air--its kind of a funny site (if you have a warped sense of humor like me--and take the photo from 'behind'). But my hubby freaks every time I threaten to put one of my butt photos on my website, hence here is a normal site every Friday of unity and brotherhood (but no butts)
